CANCER:- A deadly disease or a matter of mere Courage and Determination?
The answer to this question is very close to my heart, Reason being- I have observed it very closely- As close as my ‘MOTHER’. I have seen the journey of all these warriors in the form of my Mother and that's the reason why I call them CANCER FIGHTERS not Cancer SURVIVORS- that's what they should all be acknowledged as......because they have not survived but fought...Right?
There are many statistics, huge data representing all the analysis- be it number of cancer patients, fatality rate, recovery rate etc....and most of us are aware of that but keeping that aside; World Rose Day is celebrated to appreciate the efforts of all the fighters out there. It is marked in remembrance of Melinda Rose, a 12-year-old Canadian girl was diagnosed with Askin’s tumor, an unusual type of blood cancer. She did not give up hope till her dying breath. Rose impacted many lives positively in her short existence. So, this day was named after her to commemorate her brave journey.... and inspire others.
Their Battle consists of- The strength they have, the challenges they face (Both Physically and Mentally) and much more which is beyond imagination.... but they still come out with flying colors...
Cancer can affect their self-image and self-esteem and these possible changes can be frightening. So, it reminds the patients that they are not alone in this battle.
I have seen MAA fighting everyday with those negative thoughts striking her mind and achieving victory in the end, and it's not easy at all!!
Let’s offer roses to all the Cancer Fighters and their care givers, and tell them that We are really proud of them!!
I dedicate this to my mother- my Fighter Mom....!!
You have kept your heart out there... God bless you
More power to your Mother... She is really strong!😊
